Currently serves as Council Liaison to Library Commission and City Beautiful Commission. I am proud to have a seat on the City Council. Being retired I have the time to devote to the position. Having served on Council from 1983-1999, many residents urged me to run again citing my dedication and years of experience. During my tenure on the Council, I served as Council Liaison to almost every Board, Commission, and to the Southgate Community School District.
Southgate is a great community in which to live and raise a family. It offers programs and activities for all ages. I have enjoyed working with all Southgate residents, whether it is sponsoring softball and baseball teams, coaching youth soccer, managing the Senior Citizen men's softball team, serving on PTO Boards, or chairing community events.
Southgate, like other cities, is experiencing difficult financial times. We must explore ideas for hosting new events and bringing new business into the city. I'm asking residents to please support local businesses and buy American. I wish to thank you for allowing me the privilege to serve as a member of the City Council and welcome any suggestions or comments.
